This project is exactly what Michigan needs ,all involved should feel very proud to be a major supporter of the community, and other counties could profit from learning how to turn a plant closure into a community plus,thanks

Steve,
You've been busy with important work so I understand why it's difficult to keep up with your blog entries.

One of those efforts is the improvement to the city's Randall Street entrance. I'd like to commend you and the city council for taking the initiative to capitalize on the opportunities placed in the city's lap with the improvements to this stretch of roadway for the safety and beautification of Coopersville.

It's not very often that such a return on investment is presented to communities and especially rare in today's economy. I'm glad the city leaders had the foresight to capitalize on this situation.

As I mentioned in my letter of support, marketing experts agree that in order to attract development, you have to have an attractive offering. This will make Coopersville all the more attractive to potential development opportunities.

Some one commented that customers will walk through broken glass to get to your door if you offer a good product and great service, but they have to know you exist before they do that. The improved roadway, sidewalks and yes, a landscaped boulevard will draw potential customers, residents and developers into our community where our retailers, businessmen and women as well as residents can prove their products and demonstrate their superb customer service.

Well done.

It doesn't seem like it took a local company with international ties, who could actually move just about anywhere they wanted, very long to identify the quality of life this area offers both residents and businesses. Not only is this good economic news, but it is also a tribute to the QOL (Quality of Life) here. Coopersville is poised for more of, and possesses already, desirable city status. Port City Racing will fit hand in glove with the demographic here. Fabulous, just fabulous. Welcome Port City Racing. Hey, If you need to travel with all of that international work, see Sol Provider Travel Company, right here in town. Mark Douglas (I am not in travel, but we do try to plug for each other's business, and I hear nothing but good re: Donna Dykstra.) :-)

Don't know who to thank;
 After the August 9 storm, we had a lot of brush and a large treetop down in the yard. On Monday we observed city trucks and equipment hauling such debris so we promptly made a pile near the street and saw that many others around town had done the same. A week later on August 18 I called the city office to inquire when the pickup might happen and was told (politely) that the city doesn't do that and we could just bundle it up... you surely know the speel. Well this was going to be a big project and I was not at all pleased. So was grumbling to everyone about it . Then next morning somewhere between 8and 10AM the two piles vanished and no one in the house heard or saw anything.
 I figure the city did this and am very appreciative . Thankyou!! but now I can't go back to the people I grumbled to because the official policy is that you don't pick up curbside brush.
