MDOT Transportation Alternatives Program

On July 31st Coopersville received an email stating that the MDOT was offering the North Bank Trail a $1.8 Million Conditional Commitment Offer for the trail to be constructed in 2027 from 48th Avenue to 64th avenue. The Trail will need to have $600,000 in matching funds, which they have been working to secure. The next grant to be applied for will be the Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund Grant which can be used as matching funds towards the project. Additionally, Baker Auto Group of Coopersville has made a donation of $75,000 and Fairlife has committed $75,000 toward the project. Other funds for the project include a grant from the Coopersville Community Foundation for $5,000 and the Rotary Club of Coopersville will donate $5,000 a year for the next 5 years. Fundraisers throughout the year help raise funds toward engineering costs that are incurred on a monthly basis. The next fundraiser will be the Fall Fest on September 11 at Little Red Barn in Nunica, featuring Main Street Dueling Pianos, food drinks and more! Tickets will go on sale soon!
