Mission of the Office of the City Clerk
To serve the community residents and business owners, the City Council, the City Manager and City departments rendering equal service to all, providing top-level, accurate, courteous and enthusiastic service.
The City Clerk is responsible for the management and preservation of the official records of the City of Coopersville and maintains Codes, Ordinances, Resolutions, Policies and other legal documents. The Clerk’s chief responsibility is to serve the City Council by preparing material for the meetings, assuring motions meet parliamentary and legal requirements, recording official action and expediting official action by reviewing legal requirements. The Clerk shall also attend and record all meetings of the City Count and then prepare minutes for distribution.
The Clerk’s office also serves as licensing and permit authority for the City, issuing business registrations, peddler / solicitor licenses, permits, reviewing permit applications, updating requirements and reviewing applicable laws.
